What to look for when buying a new home

what to look for when buying a new homeTop 5 things to look for in a Home

So you’re looking to buy a home, huh? Well, here are the five biggest things you ought to look for when it comes to purchasing a new home. Sure, there are a lot of other things out there to consider, but here are the five biggest ones:

1. Location

Location matters, and it matters for a variety of reasons! First and foremost, do you have kids? If you do, location means knowing whether or not the school district is of high quality. It also means deciding whether or not you have a walk able environment in which you can play with your kids in the street, on the lawn, or run down the sidewalk together.

2. Did We Mention Location?

Location matters for resale value, too – and that means determining whether or not the neighborhood will become stronger, and in turn, whether or not you can get the most out of your home in the long run as an investment.

3. Re-Sale Value

Linked to that is the idea of re-sale value. A home is great if you can get it for a good deal, but how much can you re-sell it for? And how much can you make off it after a few years’ time?

4. Amenities YOU Want!

Location aside, does the home have the rooms you need, and the amenities you want? Your home needs to be something that you love – don’t settle for less if you can go and get more!

5. Potential for Improvements

Finally, improvements matter. Are there abilities for you to remodel? If you can improve the home, you can make it your own – and that’s a reason to buy!
